MAPD

Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan

MAPD stands for Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan — a type of Medicare Advantage plan that includes prescription drug coverage bundled directly into the plan.

This is different from enrolling in a standalone Part D drug plan separately — an MAPD combines medical and drug coverage into one single plan and one single premium.

In Plain English

It's a Medicare Advantage plan that already has your prescription drug coverage built in, so you don't need a separate drug plan on top of it.
